Market Report November 2003
Back to news index
Ginger Root Oil
No sooner has the price reached an historical low, it seems the price of
Chinese Ginger Root Oil is advancing on limited supplies of Ginger Roots. Prices are
expected to advance as buyers rush to buy up remaining competitively priced oil.
Cedarwood Oil
Chinese Cedarwood Oil is increasing in price, forcing buyers to look at
alternatives like Virginia, and Atlas Cedarwood from Morocco
Citronella Oil
Due to low demand for Citronella Oil, traders have been forced to lower their
prices further. Sri Lankan Citronella is almost 40% more expensive than other origins like Vietnamese,
Chinese and Indonesian Citronella Oils.
Orange Oil
Export prices have eased recently for Brazilian Orange, and some traders
will probably release more material, potentially leading to even lower prices.
Rosewood Oil
Very little Rosewood Oil is available on the spot market in Europe, and
Rosewood in transit is being sold at ever increasing levels. Supplies are so limited that we have been
advised by our shipper in Manaus that there will be a 20% increase at a minimum.
Tea Tree
Demand for both Australian and Chinese Tea Tree Oil is flat. Reports
of reduced acreage in Australia do not seem to have had any impact on buyers.
