Speculation in Chinese oils
Well, it had to happen sooner or later. So many oils were trading at prices so low that one wondered if the producers would continue to offer with little or no margins. A number of Chinese oils are now not only suffering from smaller production but also from speculative buying...

Bergamot
Current civil unrest in Ivory Coast may move prices upwards for both Sicilian and South American material.

Blackcurrant Seed Oil
A new material offered by us. New Crop material coming on stream later this month. We can offer two qualities, with G.L.A. contents of 10% and 14%.

Black Pepper
Prices for the essential oil are gradually reducing to more realistic levels. Prices are currently down by 40 per cent compared to 6 months ago.

Citronella Oil
Weather damage on top of shrinking plantations has caused prices of Chinese oil to surge to almost double from the same time last year. Indonesian and other origins have followed this upward trend.

Eucalyptus Globulus
Demand is still exceeding supply, with spot stock trading at a slight premium. Rumours of a 10 per cent tax on sales of Yunnan material are as yet unconfirmed

Patchouli Oil
Indonesian supplies still firm. Chinese material still variable in quality, with lower Patchoulol content.

Ylang Oil
Madagascan supplies are still available. We now have organic material available from U.K. stock. Contact us for details.

Lavender Oil
High volumes of French Clonal material still available at source. Qualities of East European origin very inconsistent, and we have been offered Russian material labelled as Bulgarian. Most of the Bulgarian production in speculative resellers hands.

Sandalwood Oil
All reports from India, although worded differently, all basically say the same thing..... prices will be high for the foreseeable future.
