Market Report July 2004
Back to news index
Amyris Oil
After the political upheaval and flood damage, oils from Haiti have been difficult to forecast
from a price and availability point of view. Amyris Oil demand seems to have peaked now, as
companies re-formulate products because of the high price of Sandalwood Oil. Our stocks have now
arrived and we have good availability.
Chamomile Oil Blue
Price of Egyptian material continues to rise as stocks are selling out fast.
Be sure to check the Chamazulene content as it can vary quite considerably.
Geranium Oil
The production of Summer Geranium Chinese has commenced, and earlier reports of an anticipated
120 Tonnes seem to be accurate. Price will no doubt drop as remaining stocks currently in the
hands of traders will be sold on quickly at attractive prices.
Litsea Cubeba
New Litsea crop about to commence in China, and reports reach us that the 2003 crop is almost
sold out. Spot stocks in Europe selling at a premium for hand-to-mouth requirements as the large
buyers wait for some production figures before committing their orders. Local demand will increase
as China produces more Citral for the domestic market.
Patchouli Oil
Depending on which supplier you speak to, price of Indonesian Patchouli Oil varies by as much as
US$ 5-00/kilo for minimum 30% Patchulol content.
Rose Wood Oil
Very limited quantities available at this time, and some qualities offered are questionable.
In comparison to 12 months ago, prices have increased US$ 28-00/kilo and will continue to rise as
little or no material is coming forward.
