Cinnamon Leaf Oil
There have been reports of widespread flooding in Sri Lanka which may affect pricing and availability for both Cinnamon Leaf Oil and also Citronella.

Grapefruit Oil
We have been unable to secure any supplies for some weeks now. Qualities have negligible levels of Nootketone, and even Origins like Argentina are completely sold out.

7th Amendment / European Cosmetics Directive
The 7th Amendment is now published in the Official Journal of the EU which basically means it will become Law for all Member States from September 11th 2004. The 26 'alleged fragrance allergens' must be identified on the labelled finished product if present at a higher concentration than the stipulated level.

Ho Wood Oil
Spot material in short supply as Buyers try to cover forward needs on news that China has not honoured some contracts. Prices of Linalool natural are rising as a result.

Nutmeg Oil
Civil unrest in Aceh Provence is hampering supplies of Nutmeg Oil. Prices will remain high for the forseeable future.

Orange Bitter
The 36th Amendment (IFRA Code of Practice) has a revised standard Expressed Bitter Orange Peel Oil effective July 2003 for existing Compounds. You can download this detailed information at www.ifraorg.org.

Patchouli Oil
Pricing still running over 40% higher than the turn of the year. We are still confident that prices will ease once the supply situation allows large contracts to be filled. Indonesian shippers are paying Distillers a high premiumin order to fulfil long standing contracts.

Rose Otto
As if getting bad news on the new crop didn't help, we must also remind customers that the 36th Amendment of the IFRA Code has, among other things, set new standards for Methyl Eugenol, which can be present in Rose Otto at up to 3% and a number of essential oils to boot.
