Market Report January 2001
Back to news index
Patchouli
News reaches us that bad weather is to blame for current shortage and escalating prices.
Prices at source remaining stable for the last couple of months, with spot stocks commanding
the usual premium.
Eucalyptus
The London market moved upward by about 20 per cent this week. According to a London broker,
three shipments meant for London were sent to New York instead, causing the blip in price.
Sandalwood
Very little, if any, material being offered from India and spot sellers are
holding stock waiting for further increases.
Orange
Rumours on market claim Brazil will have a lower crop this year, so we have
sourced a superb quality Spanish material, which is now available from stock. Please
contact us for samples / offers.
Davana
Due to large quantities available, prices are gradually falling. Buyers are
not covering their needs too far forward as prices are expected to tumble
further.
Ylang
Now that Ramadan has passed, we hope to see the supply situation improve.
